FAQ

Questions, answered.

The things players and game developers ask us most. If your question is not here, ask us directly.

What is iptsi?

iptsi is an independent studio that builds original HTML5 games for the browser and prepares licensed titles for the web. Twenty of our own games are playable free on this site, alongside a catalogue of licensed premium titles from publishers we work with.

What does it cost to play?

Nothing. The twenty games we built are free to play, there is no account to create, and there is no advertising inside any of them. Open a game and play it. A few of the licensed catalogue titles are commercial products from their publishers, which is stated on the listing.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Every game runs in the browser from a link. There is no app to download, no store account and no update to accept.

How do the games remember my best score?

Your best score is stored locally in your own browser, on your own device. It is never uploaded and we have no server-side record of it. That means it survives a refresh but not clearing your browsing data, and it does not follow you to another device.

Do the games work offline?

Once a game page has loaded, yes. Nothing is fetched while you play, so an interrupted connection does not interrupt a game and playing costs no data. This is a consequence of how the games are built rather than a separate feature.

Which devices and browsers are supported?

Any reasonably current browser on a phone, tablet or desktop. The games are designed on a phone first, so touch is the primary input and the keyboard is a bonus. They also run on older hardware deliberately: a game that only works well on a new phone is a game most of its audience cannot play.

What language is this site in?

English. The site is published in English only. The games themselves are deliberately light on text — most need no translation at all, because the mechanic is understood by watching it, and that is a design decision rather than an afterthought.

Are there ads in the games?

No. Nothing is injected into a game and nothing is placed over it, and the games make no advertising request of their own. Advertising does run on the pages of this website around the games — you will be asked to consent on your first visit, and you can decline — but the ad script is never loaded inside a playable game, so a game still runs with the network switched off.

Do you make your own games, or only publish other publishers’ titles?

Both. The catalogue carries licensed premium titles from publishers such as GameHouse, Gameloft, Mondia Group, ONMO, Headup and VIVUGA, and we also build originals in-house. Twenty of them are playable free here: iptsi Runner, Prism Pop, Pulse Tap, iptsi Serpent, iptsi Bricks, iptsi Memory, iptsi Stack, iptsi Mole, iptsi Glide, iptsi Merge, iptsi Maze, iptsi Rally, iptsi Escape, iptsi Echo, iptsi Words, iptsi Sum, iptsi Hue, iptsi Rocks, iptsi Match and iptsi Flood.

Why are your own games so small?

Because each one is a single self-contained HTML file with no engine and no downloaded assets — all artwork is drawn at runtime on a canvas and all sound is synthesised in the browser. A complete game is under thirty kilobytes, which is smaller than one photograph on a typical website, and it starts in the time it takes to fetch a small page.

I build games. How do I submit one?

Send a playable link, not a trailer. Include one line on what the game is and who made it, and use the contact form on this site. We play it on a phone, on an old device, on a slow connection and then with the network off, and we answer every submission either way.

What are the technical requirements for a submission?

It has to start in seconds, be understood without instructions, work with one thumb, and survive with the network switched off. A single self-contained HTML file is ideal but a small folder is fine. What matters is that nothing is fetched from a third-party host while the game runs, because that is the request that fails on a bad connection and the script that can change under you.

Do you ask for exclusivity or a fee?

Neither. There is no fee to be considered, non-exclusive is the default rather than something you negotiate, and the developer credit stays on the listing. We do not ask for your source code or for the right to change your game and keep the result.

How is my data handled?

The games have no accounts and send nothing to us. Your score is stored in your own browser and nowhere else. If you contact us, we receive what you send and nothing more. The privacy policy sets this out in full, and there is no analytics on this site.

How do I get in touch?

Use the contact form or write to info@iptsi.com. Tell us whether you are asking about a game, submitting one, or interested in licensing a title for the web, and we will route it to the right person.
