How this site's content is researched, written and corrected.
Everything published on this site is written by the people who build the games on it. This page explains how that content is produced, what we refuse to publish, and how to challenge anything you think is wrong.
Who writes this
Articles on this site are written from the experience of building and publishing browser games. They are not commissioned from freelance content writers, and they are not generated and published without review.
Sourcing, and what we do with numbers
We distinguish carefully between three kinds of statement, and we try to make it obvious which is which:
- Figures we hold. Where a claim depends on our own measurements, we use the numbers we actually took and say that they are ours. For example, the file sizes quoted in our articles are the real sizes of the games on this site, measured rather than estimated.
- Judgement. Where a conclusion is our professional opinion rather than a measurement, it is written as an opinion. Our framework for choosing genres is described as a framework, because that is what it is.
- General practice. Where we describe how browsers, devices or platforms behave, we describe behaviour that holds generally rather than attributing specific numbers to sources we cannot cite.
We do not invent statistics to make an argument look stronger. If a claim would need a number we do not have, we make the argument without the number.
What we will not publish
- Content produced by scraping or rewriting other people's work.
- Bulk-generated articles published without review, fact-checking and editing by a person.
- Rating, performance or revenue claims about third-party titles that we cannot substantiate.
- Anything about a named partner, title or person that they have not agreed to be published.
On the use of automated tools
We may use software to help with spelling, grammar and structuring a draft. Every article is reviewed and edited by a person before it is published, and no article on this site is generated and published unreviewed. We mention this because a policy we expect of others is worth stating about ourselves.
Corrections
If you believe something here is wrong, tell us at info@iptsi.com and say which page you mean. Where a claim about a title, a partner or a market is inaccurate, we will correct it or remove it. Where a correction changes the substance of an article, we note it on the page rather than editing silently.
Advertising and editorial are separate
Advertising on this site, when enabled, is sold programmatically and is not influenced by, and does not influence, what is published. No advertiser sees an article before publication and no advertiser can have one removed. Our placement rules keep advertising away from the legal pages and away from the playable games, where a click would be accidental rather than intended.
Disagree with something here?
Tell us which page and what you think is wrong. Where we cannot defend a claim, we correct it or remove it.
