About Prism Pop
Prism Pop is a colour-matching puzzle about patience. The board is filled with gems, and any group of two or more touching gems of the same colour can be burst with a tap. Bursting a small group is easy and always available. Bursting a large one is worth far more, and the whole game is the tension between those two facts.
Most players begin by clearing whatever they can see. That is the correct instinct and the wrong strategy: a group of two scores little, and it removes the gems that would have joined a larger cluster later. The skill is in reading the board well enough to leave the fat clusters alone until they are worth taking.
How to play
- Burst a group — tap or click any gem that is touching at least one other gem of the same colour.
- Size is everything — a group of six is worth far more than three groups of two, and it costs you fewer moves.
- Watch the edges. Gems at the edge of the board connect on fewer sides, so clusters there build more slowly.
- The board ends when no two touching gems share a colour. At that point the run is scored and you can start again.
The board is generated fresh each time and the game keeps your best score in the browser. There is no timer, which means there is no penalty for thinking — this one rewards reading the board rather than reflexes.
How it was built
Like the other games here, Prism Pop is one self-contained HTML file. The gems, the board, the glow when a group is selectable and the burst animation are all drawn on a canvas at runtime, and the sounds are generated in the browser rather than loaded. There are no libraries and no external requests, so it runs from a web server, from a folder on a disk, or inside a sandboxed game environment without changes.
The mechanic was chosen partly because it needs no language at all. A group of gems either connects or it does not, and that is legible to anyone regardless of the language the interface is written in — the same property that makes this genre practical to distribute across many markets at once.
Why it is free
Prism Pop exists to show what a iptsi original looks like when we build it ourselves rather than license it: small, immediate, and designed for the short session. It is not a teaser for something you have to buy. It is the whole game, free, with no account and no advertising on the page.
