About iptsi Maze
iptsi Maze is a collection game played on a freshly generated maze. Every open corridor holds a dot, and you move one cell at a time until none are left. A clock runs the whole time. Clear the maze and a larger one appears; let the clock run out and you lose one of your three lives and get the time back, so a slow start is survivable but a habit of it is not.
Because the maze is generated rather than fixed, there is nothing to memorise. What the game actually tests is route planning under a clock: whether you work a section systematically or wander back into corridors you have already cleared. That is the difference between clearing a maze with time to spare and losing a life on it.
How to play
- Move with the arrow keys, W A S D, or by swiping.
- Every dot you collect is worth points; clearing a maze entirely pays a bonus and moves you up a level.
- The clock is the bar at the top of the board. When it empties you lose a life and the clock refills โ the dots you have already cleared stay cleared.
- Levels get larger, so the same amount of time covers more corridor.
How it was built
The maze is generated at runtime with a randomised depth-first search on an odd-sized grid, which guarantees that every open cell is reachable and that there are no loops. That matters for fairness: a maze with unreachable dots would be unwinnable, and a maze with loops would let you take shortcuts that flatten the difficulty.
Movement is grid-locked rather than free, so you never get stuck on a corner, and the whole board is drawn as rounded rectangles and dots on one canvas. As with every game here, it is a single HTML file that makes no network requests and needs no install.
Why it is free
iptsi builds these games in-house and owns them outright, so they can be bundled, white-labelled or localised without waiting on anyone else's approval. They are also here to be played: no account, no download, no advertising on this page, and your best score stays in your own browser.
