About iptsi Memory
iptsi Memory is a matching-pairs game with no failure state, which makes it the gentlest thing on this site. Sixteen cards lie face down; you turn two at a time and keep the pairs you find. There is no timer running against you and nothing to lose, so the only thing being measured is how efficiently you can hold the board in your head.
It was built for the family end of a catalogue. A game with no losing condition can be handed to a child without any supervision or age gate, and it needs no explanation because the rule is visible in the first two cards you turn.
How to play
- Turn a card โ tap or click it.
- Match two โ if the shapes are the same, the pair stays face up.
- Remember โ a mismatched pair turns back after a moment, so the board rewards attention rather than speed.
- Clear all eight pairs to finish. Fewer moves and less time mean a higher score.
How it was built
iptsi Memory is one self-contained HTML file with no dependencies. The cards, the flip animation and all eight symbols โ circle, square, triangle, diamond, star, hexagon, ring and cross โ are drawn on a canvas at runtime rather than loaded as images.
Every symbol is a distinct shape as well as a distinct colour. That is a deliberate accessibility choice: a colour-blind player can still tell the pairs apart, and it also means the game needs no text anywhere, so it localises for free.
The pairs are shuffled with a Fisher-Yates shuffle, and the flip is animated on a cosine curve so the card appears to rotate rather than fade. Small details, but they are the difference between a game that feels made and one that feels assembled.
Why it is free
All twenty games on this site are originals, built in-house and owned by iptsi rather than licensed from anyone. There is no account, no download, and no advertising on this page.
