About iptsi Stack
iptsi Stack is a precision game with a single input. A block slides back and forth above a tower; you tap to drop it, and whatever overlaps the block below becomes the new top of the tower. Whatever does not overlap is sliced off and falls away. Miss the tower entirely and the run ends.
The consequence of that one rule is a game that gets harder in a way you can see coming. Every successful drop makes the next block narrower, because the part you missed is gone for good. After five or six blocks the target is a sliver, and the run ends because your aim failed, not because the game cheated.
How to play
- Drop the block โ tap anywhere, click, or press space.
- Overlap is everything โ the block is trimmed to the part that lands on the tower, and the trimmed part falls away.
- It speeds up โ the sliding block moves faster with every block you place.
- A clean miss ends the run. There is no second chance and no lives to spend.
How it was built
iptsi Stack is one self-contained HTML file with no dependencies. The tower, the sliding block and the pieces that fall away are all drawn on a canvas at runtime, and the sounds are generated in the browser with the Web Audio API rather than downloaded. The camera follows the tower upward once it grows past the visible area, so the game keeps working however high you build.
The trimmed overhang is animated rather than deleted, which matters more than it sounds: seeing the piece you missed tumble away is what communicates the cost of an imprecise drop. Without it, a narrow block simply appears and the player never quite learns why.
